Commuting options for the Route 128 region

Welcome to the home of transportation solutions for businesses in Massachusetts' Route 128 West area.  We are a non-profit organization dedicated to relieving traffic congestion and making commuting easier in Waltham and other communities around Route 128 (see menu to the left). We operate shuttle buses and provide other services for our member companies.

NEW! Winter Street Bridge update 8.16.08

The Winter Street Bridge project will have the support columns for the first phase of the new bridge poured by the end of this month.  Construction of the first half of the new bridge (allowing for the transfer of the 84,000 +/- fiber optic cables without cutting and splicing) as well as the temporary bridge placement to the north of the new bridge should be completed by the end of the year.  Completion date is still scheduled for the fall of 2010.

A Traffic Forum on the Winter Street Bridge was held today, hosted by the 128 Business Council and the Waltham Chamber of Commerce.  Dr. Frank Ching, Waltham Transportation Department Director, updated the group on the progress to date, and Mass Highway Officials and Waltham Police Department Officials were also on hand to present updated information on the Project.

(pdf file).  The current scheduled completion date for the Bridge was announced by Mass Highway engineer Mark Hayden.  The official completion date is April of 2010.  However, the new span will be built and all seven lanes of travel will be open by late Spring of 2009.

Other Projects:  The Related Company has submitted an Environmental Notication Form for the development of Prospect Point in Waltham.  This development, located on the current Polaroid property on Main Street adjacent to Route 128 North, is quite significant, withe more than 1.5 million square feet of office and retail space.  The development will also include a bike path.  The estimated completed date is 2010.
